Parañaque City Mayor Eric Olivarez joined bike enthusiasts in the 8.18-kilometer “Padyak Parañaque sa Kalusugan” held at Ayala Malls, Manila Bay on Saturday, Feb. 11.
Olivarez, a registered nurse and health conscious person, said doing some physical activities is very important for everybody to stay fit and healthy.
The mayor admitted that he is not a bike enthusiast but he loves jogging and playing tennis.
Olivarez said he managed to keep himself healthy by following the 70-30 habit (70 percent is for eating nutritious foods and 30 percent for exercise).
The mayor said the “Padyak Parañaque sa Kalusugan” activity was prepared by the City Health Office (CHO) under Dr. Olga Viretusio as part of the city’s celebration of 25th cityhood anniversary on Monday, Feb. 13.
He thanked the Department of Health-National Capital Region (DOH-NCR) Director IV Dr. Aleli Annie Grace Sudiacal, bikers, and department heads who joined the activity.
The 2.60-kilometer “Padyak Parañaque sa Kalusugan” was participated in by children aged six to 17 years old.
