BAGUIO CITY – The city government received the 2022 National Anti-Drug Abuse Council Performance and the 2021 Digital Governance Audit awards during the Regional Awarding of Best Performing LGUs-cum-Buhay Ingatan, Droga’y Ayawan (BIDA) Caravan on Wednesday, Feb. 8.
The program was organized by the Department of Interior and Local Government-Cordillera (DILG-CAR).
In the ADAC (Anti-Drug Abuse council) award, the city was recognized for its ‘exemplary efforts in the performance of its duties in complementing the national government's anti-illegal drug campaign.’
The city garnered 90 ‘functionality points during the conduct of the 2021 ADAC Performance Audit.’
The 2021 ADAC performance audit aims ‘to assess the functionality and effectiveness of local ADACs based on existing issuances and policies, determine ADAC-initiated and/or endorsed innovations and best practices at all levels, create a platform for evaluation and assessment, and recognize the best, effective, and performing ADACs.’
ADAC is in compliance with DILG Memorandum Circular 2022-034 and was done in collaboration with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-Region 1, Philippine National Police (PNP)-Police Regional Office 1 and local Civil Society Organizations (CSO).
For the 2021 Digital Awards, the city copped three major awards: ‘Best in Covid-19 Pandemic Response,’ ‘Best in Government Internal Operations’ and ‘Best in eGov Interoperability.’
The city received the awards from the DILG central office during a virtual program in 2021.
