The Department of Health (DOH) reported the detection of 174 more cases of Covid-19 nationwide on Saturday, Feb. 11.
The additional cases brought the number of active infections across the country to 9,282, as shown in the DOH Covid-19 tracker.
Metro Manila still leads among the regions with the highest recorded cases in the past two weeks with 553.
Calabarzon followed with 237 cases, Davao Region with 156, Western Visayas with 112, and Central Luzon with 96.
The cumulative number of confirmed infections in the country since 2020 is 4,074,563. This figure includes 3,999,343 recoveries and 65,938 deaths.
Meanwhile, the DOH reminded the public to practice the minimum public health standards, especially with the forthcoming celebration of Valentine’s Day on Feb. 14 and the observance of Ash Wednesday on Feb. 22.
“Under any occasion—we should continue to be aware of our individual risk through assessment of our surroundings and settings,” the DOH said.
“Hence, individuals should know when to use our layers of protection and when we should wear a mask,” it added.
Vaccination is also important to keep the low number of new cases, the DOH said.
“Today, we have kept cases manageable and low thanks to these practices. Let’s continue protecting ourselves by assessing our risk and to get vaccinated/boosted,” it added.
