Swedish Ambassador Annika Thunborg visited the Sunnyville Farm in Barangay Pasong Tamo, Quezon City on Friday, Feb. 10.
Sunnyville Farm is a 1.2-hectare urban garden cultivated by 35 urban farmers.
Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte accompanied the Swedish delegation, which consisted of 16 people from different fields and industries in Sweden.
Urban Farming Program head Tina Perez, PESO manager Rogelio Reyes, and QC Tourism Department head Maria Teresa Tirona were also present at the farm.
Belmonte showcased to the guests the hydroponics park or soilless gardening with lettuce plants.
The QC officers also demonstrated to the Swedish delegation how to grow and harvest salad line vegetables.
According to Sunnyville manager Pocholo Bonifacio, the vegetables they harvest from the farm are shared with people in different city communities.
He added that the farm production served as an aid during the height of the pandemic and was a big help to the city's food security program.
The mayor also presented the improvised equipment as well as the animals in the farm.
