PDLs in Mamburao District Jail undergo digital literacy training
Learning is for all — this was proven by the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) as it conducted free digital literacy training for Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs) in Mamburao District Jail.
PDLs of Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) Mamburao District Jail in Occidental Mindoro have benefitted from DICT’s free digital literacy training on computer and internet essentials.

“This training aims to provide basic and information and communications technology-related subjects that will help enhance the knowledge of the participants,” said DICT MIMAROPA in a statement on Thursday, Feb. 9, a day after the digital literacy training was held.
“n the long run them with opportunities for employment or entrepreneurship while also strengthening inclusiveness among the special needs of different sectors in the society,” it added.
With the help of this initiative, PDLs were able to grasp the basics of computers — from its parts and how it works. The training also focused heavily on “internet benefits” such as the convenience it provides when accessing government services.
