Some areas in the eastern section of the country will experience overcast skies with light rains this weekend, said the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) in its weekly weather outlook issued on Friday, Feb. 10.

Until Feb. 11, Saturday, Bicol Region, Eastern Visayas, and Eastern Mindanao will have mostly cloudy skies with light rains, while the rest of the country will have partly cloudy skies with isolated passing light rains.

From Feb. 12 to 15, Sunday to Wednesday, PAGASA said Bicol Region, Visayas, and Mindanao will experience cloudy weather with rain showers and thunderstorms.

It said rains may become more frequent in Eastern Visayas and Eastern Mindanao due to the approaching low pressure system.

PAGASA warned against possible flash floods or landslides.

Meanwhile, the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy weather with isolated light rains.

Rainfall forecast for February shows that most parts of the country may experience “near- to above-normal” rainfall, except for some provinces in the western sections of northern and central Luzon that may receive “below-normal” rainfall.

PAGASA said the probability of near- to above-normal rainfall is also higher this month.
