OnePlus has been making headlines lately. First with the OnePlus 11, a flagship-level smartphone packing an impressive specs sheet. And now this, the Keyboard 81 Pro, OnePlus’ first mechanical keyboard developed with keyboard-maker Keychron.
The OnePlus Keyboard 81 Pro can be used both wired and wireless. It has RGB lighting, the keys are hot-swappable, and sports OnePlus’ aesthetics, namely the red ESC key redesigned into the OnePlus logo.
There will be two available versions: Winter Bonfire, which sports optimized tactile switch for improved typing, and the Summer Breeze for a more linear switch.
The Keyboard 81 Pro features a customizable rotary dial, aimed specifically for what users may need them for. The metallic keyboard holder, presumably, can adjust the keyboard’s height. But OnePlus is saying this would allow users to make the keyboard stand up, highlighting the “Never Settle” logo beneath it. OnePlus adds the purpose of this is to “restore order” in a chaotic desk. I suppose this is meant as a space saving feature. I don’t know about you, but there have been times when I needed to move the keyboard away from the desk and couldn’t find a suitable spot to place it, and ended up tilting the keyboard upwards to lean on the keyboard. I’m sure some non-wireless keyboard users can relate.

The Keyboard 81 Pro has the Alert Slider, something that is seen in OnePlus phones. Based on images from OnePlus’ website, the Alert Slider switches between Bluetooth or USB modes. It also features a double gasket, improving the typing feel, which is a big deal for obvious reasons.
With Bluetooth, OnePlus said, with 4000mAh, the keyboard’s battery will last up to 100 hours if the RGB lighting has been set to its lowest brightness. Charging via USB C typically would take about five hours.
The Keyboard 81 Pro fully supports Mac, Windows, Linux, Android OS, and iOS. Pre-orders will begin in April on the OnePlus Featuring’s website.
