Man stabbed to death for preventing pal from joining drinking session in Albay

LEGAZPI CITY, Albay -- A 30-year-old resident of Daraga town in Albay province was stabbed to death after preventing his fellow villagers from joining them in a drinking session on Thursday evening, February 9, 2023.

Victim was identified as Joven Llaguno, 30, while the suspect was identified as Ryan Marco Lustina, 35, both residents of Purok 3, Brgy. Kidaco in Daraga town.

Lt. Col. Malu Calubaquib, spokesperson for Police Regional Office 5 (PRO-5), said that based on initial investigation, the victim was having a drinking spree at the house of his friend Ericson Nota, 30, in Purok 3, Brgy. Kidaco when the suspect arrived, allegedly also under the influence of liquor.

"The victim prevented the suspect from having a drink with them. Thereafter, a fistfight ensued between them until the suspect stabbed the victim several times on his body which resulted in his instantaneous death," Calubaquib said.

The suspect, accompanied by his family, voluntarily surrendered to the authorities.

Suspect is now under the custody of Daraga Municipal Police Station (MPS) for proper disposition.
