The Parañaque City government announced that senior citizens can watch movies for free again starting Feb. 7 after it was suspended for more than two years due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Mayor Eric Olivarez said the resumption of free movies for the seniors was discussed during a meeting with SM City Malls officers and Office of the Senior Citizens Affairs (OSCA) officer-in charge Leolinda V. Alcantara on Tuesday, Jan. 31.
He said senior residents of the city can now watch movies for free at SM City Bicutan, SM City BF, SM City Sucat and Ayala Malls Manila Bay every Monday and Tuesday.
The free movie is one of the agenda of Olivarez for city’s seniors.
Olivarez said the city government is giving centenarian benefits to all the seniors in the city once they reach 85 years old and above.
He said all the seniors in the city also received from the city government birthday and Christmas cash gifts amounting of P500. They can also avail of free laboratory examinations at the Ospital ng Parañaque I (OSPAR-I).
The mayor said the city government is also planning to build wellness center for the seniors in the city’s first district and second district.
