Night of nostalgia from Side A and Freestyle at Newport World Resorts

The Timeless Pinoy Bands concert series is back for another round of OPM greats for all generations of music fans. Nostalgic tunes reign supreme over Newport World Resorts as all-time favorite Filipino artists dominate on stage. The country’s pioneer casino, hotels, and entertainment destination kickstarts the month of March with a dose of epic performances from Side A and Freestyle. The one-night concert features a medley of the bands’ hit songs throughout the decades at the award-winning Newport Performing Arts Theater (NPAT) on March 3, 8 PM.

Side A’s music captivates with their original songs that bring back memories and feelings, as witnessed on their tracks such as “Forevermore”, “Set You Free”, and “So Many Questions”. The long-running band founded in 1985, are mainstays of the OPM scene. Its line-up of recent years has been composed of newer musicians alongside the band’s founding keyboardist Naldy Gonzalez. Last September 2022, former and present members held a successful reunion concert at the NPAT stage.

Freestyle is among the most iconic bands that ever hit the local scene with a diversity of pop, R&B, hip-hop, and other genres in their discography. They rose to prominence in the 90s with songs “Before I Let You Go” and “So Slow”. Freestyle never goes out of style as they reinvented themselves as an all-male band of five, with original vocalist Top Suzara at the helm.
