Dave Ildefonso delivered decent numbers as a starter in Suwon KT Sonicboom’s 88-84 victory over SJ Belangel’s Daegu KOGAS Pegasus in the Korean Basketball League on Tuesday, Jan. 31 at the Suwon KT Arena.
Ildefonso scored 10 points and hauled two rebounds and two assists in almost 18 minutes of playing time.
The Ateneo standout highlighted his first call as a starter with two three-pointers in the first quarter to put Suwon KT ahead by two as they held on for the win until the buzzer.
Meanwhile, Jarod Jones led the balanced attack for the Sonicboom with 23 points and nine boards while three more players scored in double figures as they improve 16-20 in the standings.
Ildefonso’s former Blue Eagle teammate Belangel had eight points and two rebounds in the tight affair.
Belangel’s 21-minute of action couldn’t lift the KOGAS from their three-game slide as they fell into a deeper 13-23 hole.
On the other hand, Rhenz Abando hasn’t seen action for the league-leading Anyang KGC since dominating the KBL Slam Dunk competition two weeks ago.
In an Instagram story, Abando shared a post implying that he hasn’t been feeling well.
Fortunately, Anyang came through with an 83-81 squeaker over the Jeonju KCC Egis also last Jan. 31 as it hiked its record to 25-11.
