Security guard killed in gunfight

BUGALLON, Pangasinan – A security guard was killed in a gunfight with a colleague while on duty in a solar power plant in Barangay Gueset here on Saturday, December 9.

Police identified the victim as Jeffrey Pandas Camo, 39.

Investigation said the suspect, Nelson Loriente, 51, and Camo were on duty when a heated argument erupted over their service handheld radio. 

At the height of their argument, Camo drew his caliber. 38 revolver service firearm and shot Loriente, who returned fire with his service 12-gauge shotgun. 

Both sustained bullet wounds were taken to the Nazarene General Hospital in Lingayen, this province, where Camo was declared dead.

Loriente is recuperating in the hospital.
