AnaKalusugan Party-list Rep. Ray Reyas has confirmed the release of medical assistance to the families of the 18 fatalities and 11 wounded passengers of the recent bus crash in Hamtic, Antique.
Reyes said P10,000 was given to each of the families.
Reports said that over 50 passengers were on board bus No.6289 when the vehicle’s brake system allegedly malfunctioned at around 4:30 p.m. on Dec. 5. This caused the bus to fall into a ravine.
The bus originated from Iloilo City and was on its way to Culasi town in Antique when the accident happened.
Reyes said the injured passengers were admitted to the Angel Salazar Memorial General Hospital (ASMGH) in San Jose de Buenavista, Antique as well as the Western Visayas Medical Center (WVMC) and Iloilo Mission Hospital.
“Nakikiramay po kami sa pamilya at mahal sa buhay ng mga biktima ng aksidenteng ito. Makakaasa din po kayo na narito ang AnaKalusugan na handang tumulong sa inyo para siguruhing mananagot ang mga dapat managot sa aksidenteng ito," he said.
