PAF deploys troops to search for missing light plane passenger


CAUAYAN CITY, Isabela – The Philippine Air Force has deployed troops to locate the missing female passenger of a Piper light aircraft that crashed on Bonifacio Day, November 30, in San Mariano, this province.

A PAF Sokol helicopter transported on Saturday, December 9, a team composed of two tracker dogs, a beagle and a Belgian Mallinois; four handlers, six rescuers, and a radioman to the crash site.

The body of the pilot was found at the crash site by rescuers on Thursday. His body was turned over to his family the following day, Friday.

Rescuers have been battling mountainous terrain, tall trees, and strong winds in the retrieval operation. 

The family of the passenger and the media  are on the ground awaiting updates from the Incident Management Team.
