“Our field engineers are closely supervising ground works to complete its river embankment project that would prevent flooding in the low-lying areas in Masgad,” said Delos Santos.

The project is supervised by the DPWH Surigao del Norte 2nd District Engineering Office (DEO).

“Stretching 737.74 meters, the embankment would ensure uninterrupted river and floodwater flow to the sea, preventing debris accumulation and soil erosion in the area,” Delos Santos added.

The DPWH Surigao del Norte 2nd DEO vowed to complete the project on time.

“We are working hard to complete this project on time, with the goal of having it operational by the first quarter of 2024,” said DPWH Surigao del Norte 2nd DEO District Engineer (DE) Marcelino M. Operario.

The project started last May and is expected to be completed by February.
