P412K ‘shabu’ seized in separate buy-bust ops in Malabon, QC


Operatives of Quezon City Police District (QCPD) and Northern Police District (NPD) seized a total of P412,008 worth of “shabu” in buy-bust operations in the two cities on Dec. 7.

The QCPD Galas Police Station (PS 11) identified the suspects as Mikko Maglapit, 26, of  Quiapo, Manila; and Mark Lester Mercado, 33, of Sta. Cruz, Manila.

Report showed that PS 11 operatives conducted a buy-bust operation at around 2:50 p.m. on Dec. 7. in Barangay Sto. Niño, Quezon City after a concerned citizen tipped off the illegal drug activity of the suspects.

A police officer acted as a poseur-buyer and bought P1,500 worth of shabu from the suspect, which led to his arrest.

Confiscated from the suspects were around 40 grams of shabu with a street value of P272,000, a cellular phone, two coin purses, and the buy-bust money.

Meanwhile, the NPD Malabon City Police Station (MCPS) operatives in coordination with Philippine Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEA) nabbed alias “Otan”, 28, a resident of  Barangay Longos, Malabon City at around 10 p.m. on Dec 7. on P. Aquino Avenue in Barangay Tonsuya, Malabon City.

Seized from the suspect were around 20.6 grams of shabu worth P140,080, a black coin purse, and the buy-bust money.

The arrested suspects will be charged for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, police said.
