The Filipino showbiz watcher has a peculiar trait that lords over the decisions of producers, talent management, and even advertisers. When talents are paired and subsequently accepted by the public, stakeholders move heaven and hell to plan the best course of action that would bring in the money. Now, the fandoms would demand that the reel loveteam should be real.


Several reel partnerships eventually succumbed to the pressure of transforming their work relationship into a love relationship. When the couple admits they are official, fans are delighted and give their full support to the celebrities. That support, however, comes with a price when fans start demanding as though they are the ones in the relationship. In addition, fans want to be informed and aware of every moment of the couple. Worse, showbiz couples are subjected to unsolicited opinion or advice and bashing if the fans do not get their way.


Given this situation, a number of celebrities have decided to play along with the fans and keep quiet about their private lives. For the sake of their careers, the truth of having a relationship with a non-showbiz partner is always kept away from the public. Lucky is the celebrity who has an understanding non-showbiz partner, who has to accept that he/she might not be acknowledged in public for the sake of keeping fans sane. In some cases, the non-showbiz partner becomes the recipient of insults and negative comments by fans who insist a reel couple should end up together.

Is this scenario the reason for the silence of Handsome Actor (HA) when it comes to his relationship with his reel partner? HA often plays along with the fandoms to make them swoon whenever he is seen with his reel partner. Allegedly, HA is in a relationship with a well-to-do non-showbiz woman. To protect her, HA does what is required for his loveteam to flourish and please fans.

Her Heavy Hand

Rumors have it that another couple had already broken up but remained quiet so as not to stir up fans and the supporters of their love team. When Singer Actor (SA) and Singer Actress (SC) paired up, fans started to ship them together. SC, despite having many years in the business, was never groomed to be part of a love team. Thus, when SA entered the picture and the fans noticed their chemistry, management knew the new couple had potential.


As time passed, SA and SC transformed their relationship into reality. When the fans found out that the two were officially together, the more they supported the love team. Soon, SA and SC were seen together in public and in various projects. Sadly, like typical couples, SA and SC had their fights. However, theirs was not the usual.


Allegedly, the fights of the two would become physical, with SA getting the brunt of SC’s wrath. As a gentleman and raised well, SA took the blows and bruised. He kept the truth hidden until one day, someone saw the marks left by SC’s heavy hand. When his family found out, they told him to end the relationship to the point of threatening to file a case against SC. SA initially agreed but only to obtain legal advice. He just wanted to move on quietly and perhaps to prevent a circus that could happen when the truth comes out.


Incidentally, gossip has already made its way to put the blame of the breakup on SA. SA was supposed to have entertained a female talent, who was considered as the third party. Insiders said the rumor was not true and was seen as a possible demolition job against SA.
