The DILG chief said Morillo’s killing is an isolated case and that the Ilocos region remains generally peaceful, particularly in this town.

Morillo, captain of Barangay Poblacion, was driving her white Mitsubishi Montero Sports Utility Vehicle on the way to her house in Barangay Tebag when two men onboard a motorcycle appeared on Thursday, December 7.

The unidentified suspects fired at her several times using a caliber 45 pistol.

She was declared dead from multiple bullet wounds.

A Special Investigation Task Group was created to tackle Morillo’s case, Pangasinan Police Provincial Office director Police Col. Jeff Fanged said.
