Construction worker's body split in half in freak backhoe accident

NASUGBU, Batangas – A construction worker died after his body was split in half by the bucket tooth of a backhoe at Nasacosta Resort in Sitio Aplaya, Barangay Natipuan, this town, on Friday morning, December 8.

Police said the victim, Ricardo Domanais, a resident of Barangay Natipuan, was struck by the tooth of the backhoe operated by Marjun in a construction site at the resort.

Marjun was leveling piled-up soil and failed to notice the victim behind a mound of soil when the bucket dropped. The victim was hit and his body was split in half, killing him on the spot.

Marjun was taken into police custody. Lawmen are conducting follow-up investigation.
