The Las Piñas city government launched the “Love Las Piñas Christmas" logo with the lighting of giant Christmas tree on Dec. 7.
Mayor Imelda Aguilar led the lighting of the giant Christmas tree and colorful lights around the Las Piñas City Hall building.
Aguilar said that the “Love Las Piñas Christmas” launch marks the city’s celebration of the holiday season, a chapter that is rich in community spirit, shared stories and festive joy.
She said the activity symbolizes not only the joy of the season but also the unity and resilience of the Las Piñas community.
The ceremony was attended by city department heads, including Alelee Aguilar-Andanar, and a large number of residents all eager to partake in the festive cheer.
Aguilar emphasized the importance of unity and community spirit, especially during the festive season, despite the recent pandemic.
“Ang Covid- 19 pandemic ay bahagyang nakapagbago sa ating celebration ng Pasko at Bagong Taon, ngunit hindi ito naging hadlang sa aming pagbati ng isang Maligayang Pasko at Manigong Bagong Taon sa inyong lahat (The Covid-19 pandemic slightly changed our celebration of Christmas and New Year, but it did not stop us from greeting you a Merry Christmas and a Prosperous New Year to all of you),” said Aguilar.
The ceremony featured a spectacle of lights and music, beginning with a chorale performance of the students from the Dr. Filemon C. Aguilar Memorial College of Las Piñas and a duet performance of Las Piñas City’s Monterozo twins that showcased local talent, adding to the evening's entertainment and festive atmosphere.
The celebration culminated with the lighting of the Christmas tree and a breathtaking pyrotechnics display, illuminating the sky with a kaleidoscope of colors symbolizing the vibrant and dynamic nature of Las Piñas City.
