2 village guards die in collision with truck

NARVACAN, Ilocos Sur – Two barangay tanods or watchmen died after their tricycle collided with a trailer truck after overtaking a car on the national highway in Barangay Nanguneg East here on Friday evening, December 8.

Police identified the victims as Manuel F. Cabreros, tricycle driver, and Allen C. Arreola, passenger, both residents of Barangay Nanguneg East.

The victims sustained serious body injuries and were taken to the hospital but they died on the way.

Truck driver John Michael Regidor Apostol of Barangay Santa Cruz, Pamplona, Cagayan, is under police custody.
