House Speaker Martin Romualdez has commended the Congressional Spouses Foundation, Inc. (CSFI) for their initiatives that have exhibited compassion, encouraged participation, and uplifted people’s lives.
“As we gather here tonight in the spirit of the holiday season, I am filled with immense pride and gratitude for the remarkable journey we have embarked upon together this past year,” Speaker Romualdez said during the recent CSFI Christmas party at the House of Representatives.
“Your contributions go beyond mere donations. They represent hope, empowerment, and a better future for those in need. From the earthquake victims in Turkiye and Syria to the various local organizations like Marillac Hills and the Haven for Women, your impact has been profound and far-reaching,” he said.
CSFI is spearheaded by its chairperson, Tingog Party-list Rep. Yedda Marie Romualdez, the Speaker’s wife.
“The accomplishments of the [CSFI], under your diligent stewardship, have not only been impressive but have also significantly contributed to the betterment of our society,” he added.
Speaker Romualdez particularly highlighted the turnover of the P1-million donation to the Turkiye and Syria earthquake victims, which he described as “one of the most poignant moments of the year”.
“This gesture of solidarity and compassion crossed borders and touched lives far beyond our shores,” he added.
The House chief noted CSFI’s commitment to outreach, as exemplified in the gift-giving for the non-organic personnel of the lower chamber, which reached approximately 800 individuals.
Speaker Romualdez said this act of kindness “truly embodies the spirit of giving that defines the holiday season”.
He further expressed gratitude for the various initiatives of CSFI, which underscores the group’s commitment to service and community upliftment.
“Let us continue to work hand in hand, fostering a spirit of cooperation and compassion. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of many and build a brighter future for our beloved Philippines,” the Speaker concluded. --Dexter Barro II
