BACOLOD CITY – The old Bacolod City Hall building on Luzuriaga St. in the downtown area here is set for a P223-million renovation next year.
A four-story building will rise as part of the city government’s plan to totally renovate the edifice, City Engineer Loben Raphael Ceballos said.

Ceballos said that they are already in the process of finalizing the project and start the bidding next year.
He said that funding for the project was sourced from this city’s P4.4-billion loan with the Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP).
Ceballos added the new City Hall building will have a library, commercial spaces, government offices, and basement parking.
He also said that the design of the project includes the development of the Fountain of Justice which is part of the old City Hall.
Mayor Alfredo Abelardo “Albee” Benitez here said they are planning to put up a warehouse-type structure in the Bacolod Real Estate Development Corp. (Bredco) area as a temporary location for affected offices to enable government employees to continue providing services to the people.
