The Tahanang Mapagpala ng Immaculada Concepcion Foundation, Inc. Malolos, Bulacan was honored by the Department of Social Welfare and Development Office (DSWDO) as one of the 10 Outstanding Social Work Agencies (SWAs) and Auxiliary Social Welfare and Development Agencies (SWADAs) in the country for its significant contribution to society.
The foundation was recognized during the awarding ceremony on Wednesday, Dec.6.
The Tahanang Mapagpala is a center-based institution that offers shelter and comprehensive support to elderly women who are neglected, impoverished, homeless, disadvantaged, or unwell.
It is affiliated with the Diocese of Malolos and managed by the Sisters of the Divine Shepherd (SDS).
All awardees received plaques and P50,000 cash incentives.
Other foundations hailed as Outstanding SWAs were the Little Children of the Philippines Foundation, Inc.; Unbound-Zamboanga Project Foundation, Inc.; Kasanag Daughters Foundation, Inc.; and the Mahintana Foundation, Inc.
Among the recognized Outstanding Auxiliary SWADAs were Child’s Trust Is Ours To Nurture (ACTION), Inc.; Negrosanon Young Leaders Institute, Inc.; IPI Foundation, Inc.; Living New Philippines, Inc.; and the University of the Philippines Medical Alumni Foundation, Inc. (UPMAF).
In her acceptance message, Gladys Sta. Rita, president of Tahanang Mapagpala ng Immaculada Concepcion Foundation, Inc., dedicated the recognition to their foundation’s sponsors, benefactors, workers, and staff.
The Tahanang Mapagpala ng Immaculada Concepcion Foundation Inc. was established in 2001 by the Senate Spouses Foundation Inc. led by then president Lourdes LL. Pimentel and the late project chairperson Susana B. Ople.
