2 Koreans die of suffocation in sauna

MABINI, Batangas – Two Koreans allegedly suffocated to death in the sauna room of a resort in Barangay Mainit here before dawn on Thursday, December 7.

Police identified the fatalities as Sun Tae Kim, 67, and Yun Seok Seo, 63.

A fellow Korean, Hak Neung Kim, 59, also suffocated and was taken to a hospital.

Initial investigation said the three Koreans proceeded to the sauna room of the Sea Spring Resort while drunk.

Sauna attendants checked on the victims after a while and saw them lying unconscious on the floor.

They were taken to a hospital where Kim and Seo were declared dead.

Police are conducting follow-up investigation and the Batangas Provincial Forensic Unit will conduct an autopsy on the fatalities.
