Valenzuela City, Quezon City LGUs receive excellence awards for public service

The local governments of Valenzuela and Quezon Cities were honored during the "2023 GCash Digital Excellence Awards" for outstanding delivery of services to their constituents.
The event was held at The Peninsula Manila, on Wednesday, Dec. 6.
Valenzuela City Assessor’s Office chief Atty. Cecilynne Andrade received the Excellence Award in Digital Innovation.


According to the local government, the award served as proof of the city's enthusiastic advocacy and assistance for digital advancements benefiting its residents.
Meanwhile, the Quezon City Vice Mayor Gian Sotto and Business Permits and Licensing Department (BPLD) head Ms. Margie Santos received the Excellence in Digital Transformation Award and Excellence in Driving Digital Impact Award.


The Quezon City government was recognized for leading digital innovations, particularly in financial inclusion for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), promoting financial education, and implementing accessible contactless payment systems for the citizens.
On April 13, GCash recognized outstanding enterprises and MSME partners who demonstrated efforts to innovate and utilize secure and convenient digital financial technology solutions.
The recognition was part of the annual GCash Digital Excellence Awards 2023.
The GCash Excellence Awards acknowledges private and public entities for their innovative accomplishments across digital transformation, customer-centric solutions, business and technology agility, as well as product and service innovation.
GCash President and CEO Martha Sazon joined the awarding ceremony along with Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA) Undersecretary Gerald Divinagracia and Zaldy Masangkay, chief of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Local Fiscal Resource Development Division.
