CAUAYAN CITY, Isabela – Rescuers on Thursday, December 7, reached the area where a light plane crashed in this province.
However, Joshua Hapinat, spokesperson of the Incident Management Team (IMT), said that the pilot was found dead.
The pilot had an unidentified female passenger but she was not there in the crash site.
Hapinat is optimistic that she is still alive.
Rescuers found temporary shelter near the debris of the plane indicating the possibility that she survived.
Authorities will deploy K9 dogs to find her.
The remains of the pilot will be taken on Friday, December 8, to a Philippine Air Force helicopter landing zone and brought to this city.
The Piper plane operated by Cyclone Airways left the Cauayan Airport before 10 a.m. and was supposed to arrive at the Palana Airport in Palanan, Isabela before 10:30 a.m. Thursday.
It was found five days later on December 5 in Barangay Casala, San Mariano, Isabela by the Philippine Air Force.
