PH to reopen embassy in Finland — DFA

The Philippines is set to reopen an embassy in Finland to pave the way for more cooperation between the two countries, a Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) official announced Wednesday night.

During the celebration of Finnish Independence Day in Manila, DFA Undersecretary Ma. Theresa Lazaro said that the government is now in final preparations for next year's reopening of an embassy in Helsinki, which was closed in 2012.

Such development follows the opening of the chancery of the Finnish Embassy in Manila in January 2023, Lazaro added.

"The past seven decades have seen us grow closer and closer through high level exchanges as well as the growing volume of trade and investments between us," she said.

"The Philippine Government look[s] forward to more engagements with you to take in our bilateral relations to new heights," she added.
