CEBU CITY – Close to P1-billion worth of illegal drugs were seized from January to November this year, the Police Regional Office-Central Visayas (PRO-7) reported.
This was result of the relentless enforcement of the Simultaneous Anti-Criminality and Law Enforcement Operation (SACLEO), said Police Lt. Col. Gerard Ace Pelare, spokesperson of PRO-7 chief Police Brig. Gen. Anthony Aberin.
Pelare said a total of 5,892 anti-illegal drug operations were conducted in the past 11 months, resulting in the confiscation of P828,931,249 worth of illegal drugs.
Seized illegal drugs included 119.529 kilos of shabu. Several kilos of marijuana plants were also seized, Pelare said.
The relentless anti-illegal drug operations also led to the arrest of 7,154 drug personalities, Pelare added.
“The large amount of seized illegal drugs shows that the PRO-7 has been unrelenting in its campaign against illegal drugs,” said Pelare.
