P-pop groups YGIG, PLUUS release Christmas single 'Maligaya ang Pasko'
P-pop groups YGIG and PLUSS have collaborated for the first time and released the Christmas single ‘Maligaya ang Pasko.”
SBTown in cooperation with Universal Records Philippines gave fans the early Aguinaldo with the collaboration in time for YGIG’s first debut anniversary and PLUUS’ recent love song release.

“Maligaya ang Pasko,” which literally means “Christmas is happy or merry,” is also a wordplay for “Maligayang Pasko” or “Merry Christmas.”
The song entails how a guy desperately aims to win the heart and spend Christmas with the girl he likes. However, his attempts all ended with a climactic rejection.
YGIG had a two-month-long comeback for their “YLGOIVGE” album release, and PLUUS with their two singles, “Missing You” and “Shining Star.”
The exciting collaboration added fuel to the support of WeGo (YGIG fans) and SUM (PLUUS fans), especially after YGIG’s Maeg joined as PLUUS’ Justin’s leading lady in PLUUS’ “Shining Star” music video.
YGIG and PLUUS have also been actively promoting through their joint local mall tours, TV appearances and magazine features.
The two groups represented the Philippines at the Jeonju Music Festival 2023 in South Korea last August.
For the last quarter of the year, the groups wanted to end the year happily with a song that can warm the cold season and give joy not only to fans and P-pop enthusiasts, but also to everyone who might spend their holidays in solitude.
The Christmas song is the sixth officially released song of both groups, YGIG had “Shaba-Shaba,” “Doob Doob,” “Touchdown,” “BB (Beautiful Boy),” and “IDKY.” PLUUS released “My Time,” “Cross My Heart,” “Amigo,” “Missing You,” and “Shining Star.”
YGIG (You Go I Go) is a six-member girl group composed of Alexei, Hazelyn, Jewel, JM, Maeg, and Vien.
PLUUS (from “Plus, Us”) is also a six-member boy group composed of JL, Justin, Haro, Gab, Theo, and Yen.
The official music video of “Maligaya Ang Pasko” has also been released.
