MPD: Dead dog, used clothes found in 'suspicious' box on Ayala Bridge
The Manila Police District (MPD) said the “suspicious package” left on Ayala Bridge in Ermita, Manila on Thursday, Dec. 7, contained used clothes and a dead dog, not explosives.

The MPD-District Explosive and Canine Unit (DECU) immediately responded and inspected the box left on Ayala Boulevard corner Romualdez Street in Ermita after they received a call around 1:40 p.m. requesting for Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) assistance.
Authorities said the box was discovered by a concerned citizen who reported it to a traffic enforcer on duty in the area.
They immediately conducted an assessment around 1:45 p.m. to detect if there was a presence of explosives or hazardous materials inside the box.
The police said that no explosive materials were found; instead, they found inside the box used clothes and a dead dog.
