TABUK CITY, Kalinga – A man who allegedly killed a police officer in a hit-and-run incident in Purok 6, Barangay Bulanao, here on December 1 surrendered to the police on December 5.
The suspect, a 47-year-old resident of Enrile, Cagayan, surrendered to Police Col. Freddie Lazona, Kalinga police chief, accompanied by Kalinga Vice Gov. Jocel Baac and Police Lt. Col. Jolly Ngaya-an of the Tabuk City Police Station.
The suspect said he was driving a silver-gray Toyota Innova with license plates NAL-6453 when he hit Police Staff Sgt. Aldrine Arcio Agpad, a Special Weapons and Tactics Team member assigned to the Tabuk City PS.
Instead of stopping, the suspect drove away from the area.
Agpad was on his way to their office in Barangay Bulanao for their monthly rank inspection when he was hit.
Follow-up investigation and intelligence gathering led to the discovery of the suspect’s vehicle parked and covered with tarpaulin in Sitio Callagdao, Bulanao Centro, this city.
