Former The Voice PH contestant Kokoi Baldo dies in tragic road accident

The Voice of the Philippines Season 2 contestant Kokoi Baldo died in a tragic road accident in Bacolod City this morning, Dec. 8. He was 44.

ABS-CBN reported that a truck accidentally ran over his motorcycle on the Circumferential Road of Barangay Mandalagan in Bacolod.

 

 

Kokoi belonged to Team Sarah when he became a contestant in the reality show in 2014. He got eliminated in one of the live shows. He was also a frontman for the reggae-infused band Juan Gapang.

In one of his performances for the show, Kokoi received a standing ovation from "The Voice of the Philippines" coaches Lea Salonga and Sarah Geronimo after his "charismatic" cover performance of Tropical Depression's "Bilog na Naman ang Buwan" on the show's Knockout Round.
