FireFlux shackles Blacklist, snatches top seed in Group B

Ahmet Taha “Rosa” Batir and Furkan “Apex47” Akbulut proved to be the biggest thorn to the side of the Flipinos in the stunning sweep to finish the group stage with a 2-1 record, in tie with second-seed Blacklist.

Rosa and Apex47, in both games, made sure to contain Blacklist’s damage dealers with their aggressive early game rotation, specifically Stephen “Sensui” Castillo – a ploy that worked wonders for the team.

Apex47 set the tone in the rout in the series opener, securing a perfect implosion ultimate on four Blacklist heroes during the first turtle fight. That triggered a fiery 7-0 start and 6.5K gold lead for the Turkish champions.

Blacklist had some answers but another implosion ultimate for Apex47 during a 13-minute lord dance proved to be the dagger to the Filipino representatives.

Rosa shone on the Lylia pick with a 5-1-9 KDA in the 14-5 Game 1 win. Tienzy also dazzled on the surprise Leomord pick with a 5-0-8 tally while Apex46 had a 1-1-7 line on Tigreal.

Riding the momentum of the Game 1 win, FireFlux outlasted Blacklist down the stretch, fending off a comeback attempt spearheaded by Kiel “Oheb” Soriano. 

Rosa though went for the back line dive with his Valentina pick to finish with a 5-2-6 line. Apex24 also made sure to make life tougher on Sensui’s Nolan pick by disrupting his jungle rotation with a counter draft of Hilda.

FireFlux closed out the series during a 23-minute Lord fight after taking out two heroes to take a 13-11 win.
