ILOILO CITY – The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD)-6 has released cash aid to survivors of the Antique bus tragedy on Tuesday, December 5.

DSWD-6 Regional Director Carmelo Nochete directed the Disaster Response and Management Division (DRMD) to release financial assistance for six survivors who are in critical condition.
Six families of survivors received financial assistance of P10,000 each through the DSWD-Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS).
The DSWD-6 has released a total of P60,000 to the families of the six survivors confined at the Western Visayas Medical Center (WVMC) here.
Antique Gov. Rhodora “Dodod” Cadiao urged Vallacar Transit Inc., operator of ill-fated Ceres bus, to properly coordinate with families of survivors, especially those who were transferred to hospitals here.
Cadiao said in a press conference that families of those in critical condition are in need of financial aid.
Vallacar Transit assured that it will shoulder the burial expenses of the fatalities and hospital bills of the survivors.
Eighteen people were killed in the late afternoon tragedy.
