PH logs 218 new Covid-19 cases; DOH calls for vigilance
The Department of Health (DOH) confirmed 218 new Covid-19 cases on Wednesday, Dec. 6, bringing the national total to 4,126,175.

Notably, there were no new fatalities reported, maintaining the country's fatality rate at 1.6 percent.
Meanwhile, active cases currently stand at 3,423.
Recoveries continue to climb, reaching 4,055,986 individuals, resulting in a robust recovery rate of 98.3 percent.
This positive trend, as stated by the health department, includes an additional 127 recoveries.
Regarding Covid-19 bed occupancy, the DOH highlighted that 9.53 percent of the 1,846 designated ICU beds are in use, with non-ICU beds showing a 15.78 percent occupancy rate.
Additionally, of the 1,986 available mechanical ventilators, 109 are actively supporting Covid-19 patients.
Despite these encouraging statistics, the health department issued a reminder for the public to remain vigilant.
Emphasizing the ongoing importance of adhering to basic health standards, the DOH urged citizens to wear properly fitting face masks, stay in well-ventilated areas, and promptly isolate individuals displaying Covid-19 symptoms.
