806 job seekers hired on the spot at DOLE anniversary job fairs
A total of 806 job applicants were hired on the spot during the first three days of the job fair hosted by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) in celebration of its 90th founding anniversary.
The 806 applicants were among the 6,138 job seekers who participated in the job fair sites in the National Capital Region (NCR) and other areas across the country.
On the other hand, there were 440 “near-hire” or applicants were referred to the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority for skills training, 290 were referred to the Bureau of Workers with Special Concerns for livelihood assistance, and 167 were referred to the Department of Trade and Industry for entrepreneurship development.
A total of 2,056 job seekers used the services of the National Bureau of Investigation, the Social Security System, the Professional Regulation Commission, the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation, the Philippine Statistics Authority, and the Pag-IBIG Fund.
Meanwhile, the DOLE extended an invitation to everyone looking for work, domestically or overseas, to visit the job fair sites.
The nationwide job fairs will continue until December 14, with 499 firms offering a total of 41,593 opportunities. (Trixee Rosel)
