BACOLOD CITY – Eight former members of the New People’s Army (NPA) received a total of P80,000 financial assistance from the City Social Welfare and Development (CSWD) in Guihulngan City, Negros Oriental on Tuesday, December 5.

The Guihulngan City Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (GCTF-ELCAC) distributed P10,000 cash aid under the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) program of the CSWD to each rebel returnee at the City Mayor’s Office in Barangay Poblacion.
A recipient thanked the government for providing assistance and accepting them.
The Army 62nd Infantry Brigade (IBde), in a statement, said that it will continue its partnership and support to the government’s initiative intended for the former rebels to bring more programs and projects for the sustainment of peace and development in Central Negros.
