VP Duterte to Bar passers: Serve with humility, uphold justice

Vice President Sara Duterte, a lawyer herself, congratulated the 2023 Bar passers, urging them to serve their fellow Filipinos and the country with humility and integrity and asking them to remain committed to uphold justice.

The Supreme Court on Tuesday, Dec. 5, released the list of successful Bar examinees.

“Congratulations to the men and women who have successfully passed the 2023 Philippine Bar Examinations,” Duterte said in a statement.

“May you serve our fellow Filipinos and the country with humility, integrity, and a commitment to uphold justice, protect rights, and advocate for those who seek the shelter of the law,” she added.

Their success in the recent Bar exams, the Vice President noted, was born from their sacrifices, hard work, and dedication in the face of hardships and challenges.

“Let us work together to build a society that embraces diversity, fairness, justice, and inclusivity,” she said.

Duterte, who serves as the country’s Education chief in a concurrent capacity, herself passed the 2005 Bar Exam.

The Supreme Court also announced that Ephraim Porciuncula Bie of the University of Santo Tomas topped the 2023 Bar Examinations with a rating of 89.2625.
