Senior citizen shot dead in Quezon

CANDELARIA, Quezon – A senior citizen was gunned down in front of a “sari-sari” or community convenience store in Sitio Munting Kural, Barangay Santa Catalina Sur, this town, on Monday night, December 4.

Police identified the victim as Antonio de Torres, 63.

Investigation said the victim was sitting in front of the store when unidentified gunmen appeared and shot him multiple times.

The suspects fled toward the Candelaria-San Juan Road and the victim was taken to a hospital where he was declared dead.

Investigators-on-case found four fired cartridge cases of caliber .45 at the crime scene.

Police are conducting follow-up investigation.
