ILOILO CITY – The Rotary Club of Makati-Paseo de Roxas (RCM-PDR) recently brought its art-for-a-cause in this city.
The Art Ilonggo Exhibit at Festive Walk Iloilo featured the works of artists Al Provido, JM Siva, Mae Panes, Jazz Javier, and Vincent Villarete.

The exhibit was a fund-raising event of RCM-PDR president-elect Michelle Nikki Junia who is also the interim president of the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) in Pasay City.
It was particularly borne out of Junia’s “desire to help out local artists knowing their struggles to stay true to their trade even as government support is not always enough.”
RCM-PDR past president Milet “Inday” Belicena, an Ilongga, said the art-for-a-cause manifests that the club is behind Junia’s advocacy for Philippine arts, culture, and heritage.
Proceeds from the exhibit will go to various RCM-PDR advocacies, including education or health projects.
Aside from the exhibit, 2012 RCM-PDR Group Study Exchange fellow Floyd Gamino said there was also a Rotary Forum on Vocations with its sister club Rotary Club of Metro Iloilo led by president Carlo Robles.
Among the speakers were RCM-PDR president Atty. Fabian “Fame” de los Santos, a senior partner of Sycip Gorres and Velayo accounting firm.
Others speakers were Junia, former Rotary International director Guiller Tumangan, and Ofel Bisnar, chief operating officer University of Iloilo-PHINMA Education.
The exhibit and forum were supported by Autohub Group Philippines, Megaworld Lifestyle Malls, Megaworld Lifestyle Malls, Association of International Shipping Lines, and Friends of RCM-PDR.
