BUTUAN CITY – Following the recent earthquake in Caraga and the bombing of a Mass in Marawi City, the Police Regional Office-13 is on full alert status to ensure operational readiness and swift response to any threats to peace and order and any calamity in the region.
PRO-13 Director Police Brig. Gen. Kirby John B. Kraft said they have deployed more police personnel to secure airports, seaports, markets, malls, terminals, and other vital installations, both government and private, to prevent the entry of threat groups.

Kraft said the Regional Maritime Unit, Aviation Security Unit, and Special Action Force trained in counter-terrorism are part of the standby force ready to respond to any crisis.
To increase personnel strength, all police officers shall render an additional 50 percent of duty time to their scheduled detail or shift, he added.
Kraft directed all regional, provincial, and city mobile force commanders, provincial and city directors, operational control (Opcon) unit commanders, and municipal chiefs of police to intensify checkpoints and police visibility, including the implementation of the anti-criminality campaigns.
PRO-13 assured it could provide manpower, mobility, and search and rescue equipment to help the Office of Civil Defense following the series of earthquakes in the region.
“Complacency has no place in our hearts following the bombing incident in Marawi City. We must come together to confront terrorism head-on with resilience, courage, and unity,” Kraft said.
PRO-13 condemned the attack in Marawi that killed four persons and injured 50 others.
“We extend our condolences to the grieving family of the four victims and offer our prayers for over 40 individuals injured in the attack,” Kraft said. We beef up countermeasures and police operations to guarantee the safety of the people and to suppress the threats to peace and order.”
