Phivolcs said 469 of the 2,491 aftershocks that had been recorded as of 7 a.m., Tuesday, were plotted by at least three stations.

Only 29 of the aftershocks, whose magnitudes ranged from 1.4 to 6.6, were felt.

Meanwhile, the number of aftershocks from the magnitude 6.8 earthquake in Cagwait, Surigao del Sur on Dec. 4 has risen to 519, with magnitudes ranging from 1.8 to 5.7.

Of the recorded aftershocks, 188 were plotted.

However, only two aftershocks were felt.

According to Phivolcs, the magnitude 6.8 earthquake was not a result of the magnitude 7.4 earthquake; rather, the two earthquakes were caused by the Philippine Trench and happened separately.
