Phivolcs records another 5.7-magnitude aftershock in Surigao del Sur
Another magnitude 5.7 aftershock was recorded by the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) at 8:34 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 5.

Phivolcs said this was an aftershock of the 6.8-magnitude earthquake that hit Cagwait, Surigao del Sur on Dec. 4.
The epicenter of the aftershock was traced 44 kilometers (km) northeast of Cagwait, Surigao del Sur, at a shallow depth of 10 km.
It was felt at Intensity IV (strong) in Bayabas, Surigao del Sur, Phivolcs said.
Its instruments also recorded the tremor at Intensity II (slightly felt) in City of Tandag, Surigao del Sur and Intensity I (scarcely perceptible) in City of Bislig, Surigao del Sur and City of Cabadbaran, Agusan del Norte.
