Metro Manila's weekly Covid positivity rate rises to 10.2 percent — OCTA

The seven-day positivity rate of Covid-19 in Metro Manila increased to 10.2 percent on Dec. 3, from 7 percent on Nov. 26, the OCTA Research said on Tuesday, Dec. 5.
OCTA Research Fellow Dr. Guido David said in a social media update that the rising positivity rate was accompanied by a 50 percent increase in daily Covid-19 cases over the past week.
Positivity rate refers to the number of individuals who yielded positive results from those who were tested for Covid-19.
However, David noted that hospital occupancy in Metro Manila remains "low" at 18 percent.
The Department of Health reported 204 new Covid-19 cases across the country on Dec. 4, with 70 cases recorded in Metro Manila.
David projected that the country may record 150 to 200 new Covid-19 cases on Dec. 5.
