Magnitude 5.7 aftershock hits Surigao del Sur for the 3rd time

A magnitude 5.7 aftershock jolted Surigao del Sur at 5:42 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 5, following the 6.8-magnitude quake in Cagwait, Surigao del Sur.

This is the third aftershock felt at magnitude 5.7 that hit Cagwait, Surigao del Sur in two days since its occurrence.

Phivolcs traced its epicenter at 56 kilometers (km) northeast of Cagwait, Surigao del Sur at a shallow depth of one kilometer.

The tremor was felt at Intensity IV (moderately strong) in the City of Tandag, Surigao del Sur.

Its instruments also recorded Intensity II (slightly felt) in the City of Tandag, Surigao del Sur.
