FDA raises alarm over 'unauthorized' sale of 13 cosmetic items
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) on Tuesday, Dec. 5 advised the public not to purchase 13 "unauthorized" cosmetic items that have not gone through its stringent evaluation process.

The FDA in an advisory identified the following cosmetic products as “unsafe” for human use: “Brilliant Skin Essentials Donut Eat It’s a Soap! For Face & Body Infused with Almond Milk and Marine Collagen,” “Herbal Cleanser Lavender,” “Yaguan Black Dew Shampoo Professional Beautiful Water Formula,” “Goree Day & Night Beauty Cream Oil Free Total Fairness System,” “Goree 24k Gold Beauty Cream,” “Dermaction Plus by Watsons Pure Anti-Acne Skin Toner Clear Lotion,” “Skinsoul Blackhead Remover Mask,” “Christine Lhuillier Parfumerie Pear and Freesia eau de Cologne,” “Brilliant Skin Essentials Choco Nut Donut Eat It’s a Soap! for Face & Body Infused with Cocoa Butter and Coffee Extract,” “Collagen Plus Vit E Day and Night Cream,” “Magic Casa Lipstick 04,” “Kevlo Acne Cream,” and “Silk Secrets Aloe Vera Oil Control Sheet.”

Its postmarketing surveillance and verification process discovered that these products lack a valid Certificate of Product Notification as of Nov. 14.
Given the omission of these cosmetic items from the FDA's notification process, the agency stressed its inability to guarantee their quality or safety.
Emphasizing potential health risks to consumers, the FDA warned of possible adverse reactions such as skin irritation, itchiness, anaphylactic shock, and even organ failure.
In response to these alarming findings, it strongly advised the public against purchasing the specified unauthorized cosmetic products.
Until full compliance with regulatory standards is achieved, the FDA has mandated affected establishments to cease the distribution of these illegal cosmetic products.
Consumers are urged to remain vigilant and prioritize their safety by avoiding the use of these non-compliant products.
