MPD declares DOLE building safe after bomb scare
The Manila Police District (MPD) said that no bombs were found in the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) building in Intramuros, Manila, after an alleged bomb threat on Tuesday afternoon, Dec. 5.
The MPD-District Explosive and Canine Unit (DECU) said that the area was cleared and there was no presence of a bomb after they immediately examined the area.
They said that they received information around 2:45 p.m. from a woman who received an email about the bomb threat.
According to her, she received an email from a certain Takahiro Karasawa who introduced himself as a Japanese lawyer.
The sender said that they planted a high-performance bomb, and it will explode at 3:34 p.m. on Tuesday.
Authorities said that DECU started the paneling at 3:10 p.m. from the ground floor to the seventh floor of the DOLE building.
They finished paneling the entire building at 3:50 p.m.
