TACLOBAN CITY – Two suspected drug pushers were killed in a buy-bust operation on Monday night, December 4, in Barangay 84, Manlurip, San Jose, this city.
Police identified the suspects as high-value individuals Edilberto Emaas Nalda, 53, ranked No. 1 in the regional priority target list, and Michael Palomo Agner, a resident of Barangay Cogon, Palo, Leyte.
The suspects sensed the presence of police officers after selling suspected shabu to a poseur-buyer and ran inside their house.
Nalda and Agner fired at the operating team which retaliated and hit the suspects who were taken to a hospital where they were declared dead.
Janet Varona, 34, No. 2 HVI in the region, was apprehended during the operation and seized from her was 14 grams of suspected shabu worth P100,000.
Police seized a total of five heat-sealed plastic sachets containing suspected shabu worth P500,000 and other pieces of evidence from the suspects.
