Miss Philippines-Universe Michelle Dee is bent on continuing her "lifelong mission" following her rousing stint in the Miss Universe 2023 pageant.
Dee was the special guest during the Christmas tree-lighting ceremony at the House of Representatives on Monday night, Dec. 5.
Before this, the 28-year-old head-turner spoke with House reporters regarding her future plans.
“It is my lifelong mission to spread awareness towards autism inclusivity, acceptance, and empowerment. I have two siblings in the autism spectrum, but I champion for millions, for individuals across the world,” she said.
Dee finished in the top 10 in this year's Miss Universe pageant held in El Salvador. However, she was hands-down the most popular contestant and the favorite of many.
“Hindi ito nagtatapos just because tapos na ang Miss Universe (This won't stop just because Miss Universe is over). This is an advocacy that I did not choose but chose me and has given me a greater purpose. I am very excited to continue the campaigns we started,” Dee said.
There has been an outpouring of support for Dee after the pageant, which many believe was winnable for her had she been chosen as one of the final five.
Added the Filipina beauty queen: “Sobrang nakakataba po talaga ng puso (It really warms my heart) because I really poured my heart and soul into representing the country we all love."
"I am just so ultimately grateful to be received like this even if hindi ko naiuwi iyong korona (even if I didn't bring home the crown). I am just happy and blessed to be a Filipino and represent all of you to the best of my abilities,” she further said.
